A Herstory Writers Network/HISB Event supported by a Post-Incarceration Humanities Partnership grant from Humanities New York.
An event to showcase work done through the “Doing Our Time on the Outside” project which bring to the fore the voices of individuals, families and communities impacted by incarceration, and engages the audience in discussion using a story-based strategy in carceral justice reform. Discussion of the project and readings from participants.
Moderated by Herstory founder and director Erika Duncan.
This event is made possible through a generous post-incarceration partnership grant initiative with Herstory Writers Network and Humanities New York, in collaboration with the Humanities Institute at Stony Brook University, Hofstra University’s Criminology Program, St. Joseph’s College Criminal Justice Department, Prison Families Alliance, and S.T.R.O.N.G. Youth, Inc.
