In this workshop, we'll dive into the world of Git and GitHub, essential tools for any programmer or developer. Git is a powerful version control system that tracks changes in your code over time, allowing you to experiment, collaborate, and revert to previous versions effortlessly. GitHub, built on top of Git, is a popular platform for hosting and sharing code, as well as collaborating on projects with others. You'll learn how to use these tools effectively to manage your code, work on projects both individually and in teams, and contribute to the open-source community. Git and GitHub are widely used in industry and academia, including many courses at Stony Brook University such as CSE 220 and CSE 320. By the end of this workshop, you'll have a solid foundation in Git and GitHub, ready to apply these skills to your own projects.
