The Humanities Institute at Stony Brook and Herstory Writing Network present, Writing to Heal: Memoir in Urgent Times - A HISB/Herstory Writing Network Event on Friday, February 28th, 1:00-5:00 pm in Rm 1006 Humanities Building, Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY.
What are the challenges of writing in spaces where freedom is unequally protected, where one’s words can bring danger, but can also bring hope? Herstory Writers Network joins forces with Stony Brook’s School of Social Welfare and Vanderbilt Divinity School to explore how its empathy-based approach to memoir writing can address the most urgent questions we are grappling with today in healing our communities, spirits, and land.
Sponsored by Herstory Writers Network, the Humanities Institute at Stony Brook, the Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare, and the Vanderbilt Divinity School.
